This Fire Retardent Liquid is the only BAL29 certified clear timber treatment or paint available in Australia.
This fast-drying 2 coat exterior system, should be applied to raw timber, and dries clear. It can then be protected with most traditional finishing products, such as stains, urethanes, and paints, to keep out the weather and maintain its fire resistance indefinitely.
Surface treatments for bushfire ratings are typically very thick and opaque intumescent paints, that swell up to insulate the timber from heat. They’re expensive and difficult to apply, making these systems cost-prohibitive. Penetrating products such as our Fire Retardent Liquid, simply soaks into the timber and prevents ignition when exposed to heat.
With a typical coverage or spread rate of 6-9m2 per L, a 5L bottle will cover most situations, at a cost of $174 excl gst. Australian wide freight is typicaly $15-$30 depending on location and QTY, or feel free to collect directly from us, following payment, as we don’t have a retail store.
